Entry #3: To Be Reasonable
The
object in my home that I have chosen to write about is my dog, Sandy. Sandy is
an elderly dog, she no longer barks, jumps, or plays fetch. The highlight of
her day is dinner time; she lays her head between my legs and begs for food for
about an hour while I eat. Besides begging for any type of food, Sandy also
sleeps. That pretty much describes my dogs entire life. She is no longer
thrilled by the idea of a car ride or long walks outside, her big fluffy pillow
at the top of the steps is all the excitement it needs in life. Visitors make
fun of her, call her fat lazy, and every other name in the book. But in all
honesty, all of her behavior is completely reasonable. Vivacious, activities
like running and jumping are for puppies or younger dogs; older more
established dogs like to sit back and observe everything. This can be easily
compared to with people. Teenagers are always looking for some event, or an excuse
to get out of the house. But in your more established, older years you find a
lifetime movie as an exciting event. The theory of being reasonable all depends
on the person or object. They determine their own definition of what being
reasonable is. Age is a common way of distinguishing what being reasonable is,
and the reasonable thing for older people or animals to partake in is a more
relaxed, simple lifestyle. But of course they are not limited to that
lifestyle.
